Our first sites are launching soon
Nothing is live yet, so there is nothing here to list. The standards the sites will follow are already set and already published, which is the honest order to do it in — you can read them before there is anything for me to sell you on.
When a site launches it appears here with the category it covers, a plain description of what it does, and a direct link. Each one also gets its own page on this site explaining how it approaches its category and what it covers in depth. Nothing gets listed here that The First Buyer does not own and edit, and no listing can be bought.
The Relationship
What it means that these are ours
A lot of “recommended sites” pages are paid arrangements between businesses that have nothing to do with each other. This one is not. Every site listed here is owned and operated by The First Buyer, and every one of them credits this hub in return, so you can always trace a recommendation back to the person who made it.
The sites do not link to each other and never recommend one another. That is deliberate. A ring of owned sites passing readers between themselves is a pattern search engines are right to be suspicious of, and more to the point it would not be serving you — a reader on a kitchen site has no reason to be pushed toward a tools site.
Nor can a site buy its way onto this page. There is no partner tier and no sponsored listing, because the list is not a marketplace — it is an inventory of what one publisher is responsible for. If a site is here, the same person wrote the standards it follows and answers for the picks on it.
What each site does carry is a link back here, to the standards it is held to and the name of the person holding it to them.
